Hardware: 4″ Super-AMOLED Display, Gigahertz-Prozessor…

Samsung Galaxy tab: The Super-AMOLED Tablet coming

Was and is on a current bestseller from Samsung, the I9000 Galaxy S, above all the big 4 ″ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 800 × 480 pixels. It has not only the largest OLED display in a market-ready Smartphone, but also the best display next to the iPhone 4. The increase of 4 ″ on whopping 7 ″ should be taken with the Samsung Galaxy tab which will already be on September 2 in stores.

The largest Super AMOLED screen at all?

So far, the cracks in particular for the AMOLED displays were rather small. The Samsung I9000 Galaxy S with its 4 ″ display so far is the measure of all things. Greater than it was also not so far, so far, OLED TV are more a vision than a reality. This is because first and foremost, that the production of OLED displays is expensive compared to the normal TFT technology. The self-luminous organic diodes emit light itself, can be turned off but also completely in certain areas of the image of the dot-matrix. This ensures that contrasts better come to the fore, black is really black (not dark grey) and colors are better. Problem so far: the manufacture of large screen diagonals is too expensive. This could have changed by reducing the number of layers of AMOLED displays to Super-AMOLED display. Market leader Samsung currently only in the regular display of AMOLED has delivery problems, so that the industries competition such as at the HTC desire on the Super-LCD technology have to change, which is weaker in comparison. Whether Samsung now the extreme jump from 4 ″ on at least 7 ″ creates, is initially questionable. The Super-AMOLED technology could allow but also this great leap which was previously unthinkable with normal AMOLED. We report further for you whether the Samsung Galaxy tab will actually get a super-AMOLED screen.

Key technical data of iPad competitors

, The Samsung Galaxy tab is equipped like the Smartphone model I9000 Galaxy S Google Android. Be delivered directly should the version 2.2, which should allow much better performance compared to Android 2.1. As mentioned above a 7 to the Samsung Galaxy tab ″ Potter large Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1024 × 600. Thus, the Tablet is smaller than the iPad by Apple (this tablet has 9 ″) with almost equal resolution (the iPad has a resolution of 1024 × 768), so on the Super AMOLED screen is a superb image quality can be expected. A 1.2 GHz processor is installed inside of the Samsung Galaxy tab. Memory-technically there’s 16 gb internal memory card can be expanded via Microsd to maximum 32 gb. Technically, the Samsung Galaxy tab also offers HSDPA, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth and USB. So everything suggests that the Samsung Galaxy tab has at least the base interfaces to easily connect to other devices. The integrated front-facing camera also suggests that the Samsung Galaxy tab will be talking. Matching, Google just his service Gmail has expanded function to a call. Otherwise as per video telephony’s will probably already find it hard, because who plays already a 7 ″ device to your ear?

Features of the Samsung Galaxy tab

Plain, the Samsung Galaxy tab is not a full-fledged computer and as well as for the iPad, we should expect too much productive by the tablet. The input is usually like when the touch screen cell phone via a virtual keyboard that is supported by Swype. With Swype “ wipes ” from letter to letter. The program recognizes the entered words. So the user can make usually comfortable and fast input, inasmuch as he is familiar with Swype. You can but otherwise also turn off the function when conventional typing on the QWERTY field better by hand. The Samsung Galaxy tab is first and foremost a surfing and entertainment machine safely, as well as the Apple iPad. With Multitouch Zoom lets the browser comfortably and the Google applications leave also no desired by mail to maps. Integrates Office functions, who probably own, are for viewing of documents than to write.

Availability and price

As mentioned in the introduction the Samsung Galaxy tab to be already available on September 2 this year. Price the tablet should not a lot are expensive than the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S, which is so far just over 400,-€. I reckon with a starting price of about 500 €.

The Volkssmartphone with touch screen: Nokia C7

, The only really common Smartphone is the iPhone. Meanwhile, the Apple Smartphone in all generations has become the box-office hit. Only drawback: for the Apple iPhone in the latest generation of 4 must they currently shell out half a fortune. Nokia shows how it goes differently with the C7. The Smartphone is the cheap counterpart to the next top model Nokia N8 and has touch screen, great service and competitive prices.

Quality from the House of Nokia

the Finns have learned from their mistakes and adjusted the quality appearance of smartphones. One thinks back music still on the plastic bomber Nokia 5800 Xpress, is remembered only reluctantly on the processing quality of the first Nokia all-rounder at a bargain price. This smartphone was neither chic nor particularly nice to touch. The new generation Nokia smartphones boasts high-quality materials. The Nokia N8 is completely made of metal and has a very high quality. Also the Nokia C7 scores despite the lower price with high quality material with touch screen made of real glass and metal applications.

Almost on Nokia N8 level

At a bargain price (about €100 less than the Nokia N8) actually provides the hardware features of the Nokia N8 the Nokia C7. Only when the camera the Nokia C7 has beaten clear: instead of 12 mega pixels, there are only 8 Megapixels and also the Xenon Flash is not integrated with the Nokia C7, and replaced with a dual LED flash. Also the inclusion of videos in HD is reserved for the big brother. Otherwise, there are technically the same facts & figures: the 3.5 ″ screen is an AMOLED and resolved with 640 × 360 pixels. Although the trend with great phones like the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S or also the HTC HD2 to larger displays, the iPhone has shown impressive: 3.5 ″ are a good compromise between mobility and usability. The Nokia C7 also offers a fleet of 680 MHz processor, 256 mb memory to the page are. Smartphone-typically are Wi-Fi, HSDPA and A-GPS available. Internal 8 gb memory which can be expanded with a micro SD card is.

Software: Symbian ^ 3

The control touch everything with the Nokia own operating system Symbian ^ 3. This operating system splits the mobile professionals like no other. Some see a gentle resources, adult and clear operating system with many setting options without many shenanigans. Critics complain the dusty optics, which can keep up with Android or iPhone. In the new version of Symbian ^ 3 is there once again light and shadow: so should for example according to various Internet reports the CoverFlow view that strong was based on that of the iPhone OS, be very liquid and player a good work of music. On the other hand is the Nokia C7 with Symbian ^ 3 sure no surf machine, because the browser can still not Android Smartphone or iPhone keep up with.

Availability and price

That is Nokia C7 appear likely timed to coincide with the Nokia N8 at a price that is to settle will be slightly below the Nokia N8. According to tnerd.com, a release in terms of October is likely what could coincide with a possible release date of Nokia N8. Price, the Nokia C7 is are still not cheap, but quite affordable with a lower price than the Nokia N8. When more information is known, we will inform you in time about the Smartphones with the potential that “ Volkssmartphone ” to.

Nokia E7: Business smartphone in perfection

, The Nokia N8 is a nice Smartphone, the Nokia C7 … undoubtedly noble! But with the Nokia E7, the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer sets new standards in terms of material quality, feel, and processing. The business smartphone is not only packed with the latest technology, but can settle first and foremost by the high-quality look and feel positively from the competition.

Dimensions, weight and processing

Circulated before of the official announcement already than the Nokia E7 “ MacBook Pro mobile “. Reason for this was and is still the case, almost entirely composed of metal and can score with very high quality optics. In combination with the 4 ″ large display and full keyboard but this has its price: the Smartphone on the scale brings nearly 180 g. Thus, it belongs to the heavy star representatives within the business smartphones. Brings even the already not particularly light Motorola milestone “ only ” 165 g on the scale. It has the competition but a smaller screen and no keyboard by such value. Nokia bought the new business train horse in the stable: a keyboard with plastic keys individually out – at the milestone, there was only a rubber mat, so that the user could feel the keys so well individually. What can the Nokia E7 also better than the milestone and perhaps even deliberately builds up the title as the flattest Volltastur slider is the depth of the phones: the Nokia E7 compared to 13, 7 mm at the milestone measure 13, 6 mm. Congratulations Nokia: Building smartphones!

Hardware: HD video, 8 Megapixel, Wi-Fi N …

the list of features reads like the wish list of mobile hardware freaks. At first but for the not superior part of the Nokia E7: 4 ″ large AMOLED touch screen display is resolved only with 480 × 360 pixels. Current smartphones, with a smaller display, are usually higher. After all, can convince the contrast OLED display with real black level and high luminosity. Also the hardware that will be most likely designed for Nokia N8 and C7, can elicit a snapping with his tongue at least anyone, but it should be enough for all areas of application. A 680 MHz processor with a 3D accelerator and 256mb of RAM are still good for today’s conditions.

Now but to the actual highlights the Nokia E7. Because the equipment really makes a lot here in this business smartphone. Starting with the unusually strong camera, which is used in the Nokia C7. The Nokia E7 in the business class is exceptionally well equipped with 8 Megapixels and 720 p HD video. Also the new Wi-Fi standard theoretical transfer rates up to 300 Mbps draft-N can convince. Via HSDPA with maximum 10.2 Mbit / s is the Nokia E7 quickly in the Internet on the go. USB-on-the-go and HDMI can be seen almost as a single feature of the E7. The 16 gb internal memory can be expanded of course via micro SD card.

Software: Symbian, feature-rich

The email client with Microsoft Exchange support is already installed. Furthermore, the F-secure program to encrypt data on the Nokia E7 is. With the Microsoft Communicator, instantaneous chat and mailing conversations are possible. That Symbian is installed, is expected in the real business usage are not a problem. The operating system is not as beautiful as iPhone OS or Android, but as productive. The less intuitive interface has the update to Symbian ^ 3 a receive final fine adjustment, so that now already quite acceptable to work.

Availability and price

Which is probably the most beautiful business smartphone with the best keyboard and the thinnest design should appear in the 4th quarter of 2010 for a suggested retail price of €649,-. Not a bargain, but we expect a real highlight in the Smartphone market with exceptional facilities and processing at the Nokia E7.

If you want to be informed as soon as the Nokia E7 in our shop is available, simply click on the article page of the Nokia E7 and then “ notification when available ”. You receive an email from us free of charge and without obligation, once the cell phones in the bridgat shop is available. By the way: The retail price we beat most significantly, especially with this handy anyway the conclusion of an appropriate data plan recommends, with which you will be able to finance the business smartphone.

Samsung apps – thousand apps, one million downloads

The Samsung S8500 wave is still technically recommendable: it has with its Super AMOLED display with multi-touch support and a high resolution of 800 × 480 on 3.3 ″ diagonal, one of the best displays on the market. It also has memory, good graphics performance and a high quality 5 megapixel camera, a gigahertz processor with powerful steam, generously the even HD recording at 720 p resolution. Also Samsung Bada developed, albeit slowly, to a Smartphone operating system with a certain range of applications: a thousand apps are now at Samsung apps.

Samsung apps against the competition

IPhone 4 or iPhone 3 G S, which, by the way, my opinion is still very recommended, are now almost 250,000 apps available in Apple’s app store. The total number of downloads from the Apple app store is now insane 5 billion. I.e. almost every person on earth could have theoretically been an app from the Appstore. On the Google, after all, around 120,000 applications will find competition in the Android market. Still a significant number. These have been downloaded over a billion times. Let’s be honest: against the Appstore Samsung does not arrive with the Samsung apps, because 1000 apps and downloads a million really isn’t much are compared with the big competition. But: Correct competition to Apple or Android smartphones will not be Samsung Bada, because the operating system is the replacement for proprietary operating systems. High price-Samsung smartphones, such as E.g. deal Samsung I9000 Galaxy S, are still equipped with Android. Therefore, the Appstore can be seen as nice inclusive free goods to an affordable Smartphone. Who but maximum yield with apps and co. needs, should continue to hold to Apple and Google.

Samsung S8500 wave: recommended thanks to Bada and strong hardware

As already mentioned the Samsung S8500 wave is still technically fully on the height. With strong hardware, Super AMOLED display and 5 megapixel camera, the Bada Smartphone is equipped. In addition the user interface not only visually reminiscent of iPhone’s intuitive operation with lots of icons, but it is actually very fluid to operate. The somewhat lame browser only clouds the very good impression. Surf but still far better, than with an other 0815 phone works. For fast Internet access Yes also Wi-Fi and HSDPA is on board. Navigate the Samsung S8500 wave using A-GPS can also. The 118 g lightweight Samsung S8500 wave also has a battery large with 1500mAh and is now available at a very reasonable price from €333,-with us in the shop.

Nokia’s wire rope stroke: delivery delay in the Nokia N8

Nokia gets more and more staggering: even before the Nokia N8 ever had market-ready, by insiders with test equipment was already sharply criticized, almost dismantled before a user ever had the device in your hand. The situation overall is not better. Although strong processing has produced positive reporting (also in the bridgat blog), but now the company is making negative headlines again …. Delays at the Nokia N8, an antiquated operating system and soon also the hardware of the camera smartphone with the release has been deprecated. According to Nokia, the Nokia N8 to come only in October on the market, but that is not safe because of problems in the manufacturing.

Technology in the Nokia N8 – October 2010 still competitive?

The competition never sleeps, especially in the field of smartphones, devices aging faster than you can create is a new …. Unfortunately, the Nokia N8 should now only appear in October and the pre-order are rightly aggrieved. As for the suggested retail price of €479,-

customers can expect most current hardware. Whether this is still the case in October 2010? The Nokia N8 weighs 135 g and is made of aluminium and has an AMOLED screen with 3.5 ″. This is resolved with 360 × 640. The resolution is a little small for our liking: the competition from the Apple iPhone 4 has a resolution of 960 × 640 and current Smartphone with Android have mostly 800 × 480 pixels resolution. Even older models such as the Motorola milestone have a higher display resolution. Always is capacitive and thus very sensitive to the touch screen like all current high-end smartphones. There is also the not new AMOLED technology in use. The 680 MHz processor is now not more high-end, also not the 256mb memory. Others have processors that make the Nokia N8 performance technically already now old look such as the HTC desire, Samsung I9000 Galaxy S or the Motorola milestone 2 gigahertz. Also is the next generation with the HTC desire HD with even more hardware power to launch …. Otherwise, there are 16 gb internal memory that can be expanded via micro SD card and USB-to-go, as well as HDMI at Nokia. The question the meaningfulness of this last feature must of course every customer for itself decide.

Camera – unrivalled good?

Of camera cell phones or even Kamerasmartphones are and remain in short supply. IPhone 4 makes good photos, but only 5 megapixels and even an LED flash. The other competitors have, such as the Sony Ericssson Xperia X 10 8 mega pixel camera, but only an LED flash while one. Right camera phones are currently scarce: the Sony Ericsson Satio has also 12 megapixel with Xenon Flash, as well the already somewhat older Samsung M8910 Pixon 12. These two competitors can not shine but recording with a brilliant HD video, which, in turn, mastery of the Nokia N8 (lately we’ve shown this on the basis of a sample videos). Therefore, the Nokia N8 is also still camera technically recommended. Finally also have an at least mobile phones “ real ” Xenon Flash that is really suitable for photos in the dark.

Conclusion, availability and price

On Nokia not the vultures are circling while – this claim would be probably grossly exaggerated due to the market leader situation probably – but the Finnish manufacturer must adhere ran, to comply with release dates and release above all technically interesting devices. The competition is the Nokia N8 ahead technically already and also the Symbian operating system, which we have just reported, is probably not the first choice in the Smartphone market. Nokia cuts with the delayed delivery of really interesting camera phone N8 in own meat. We like to inform you as soon as the Nokia N8 with us at the bridgat shop is available. Click simply on the article page of Nokia N8 on “ notification when available ” and you receive an email as soon as the device is available from us free of charge and without obligation. The retail price of €479,-will undercut certainly equal to the market launch and the price for the now already no longer quite bleeding Nokia N8 will drop quickly.

Samsung Galaxy S: Android 2.2 move update

The update to Android 2.2 for Samsung Galaxy S should appear

actually in September. Now, the technology group has informed that the update will be released until late October. Thus, Samsung has once again shown: the support is not the strength of the company. Nevertheless, the Samsung Galaxy S with Android 2.1 is the most impressive Smartphone on the market together with the Apple iPhone 4 4 ″ Super AMOLED display, Wi-Fi N, HSDPA, 5 megapixel camera, HD video ….

Update to Android 2.2 for Samsung I9000 Galaxy S in sight

Samsung I9000 Galaxy is and remains one of the most sought after smartphones which is probably thanks to the impressive hardware equipment. A 4.3 ″ Super-AMOLED touch screen has no other Smartphone, since the iPhone 4 with its 3.5 even can ″ compete retina display and also the processor, are among the best memory and operating system Android, is what currently available on the market. Unfortunately, Samsung but not for particularly good product support is known, so that users had to wait long for the update to Android 2.2 (Froyo). Now seems to be the update in the wings and to be already available in some countries.

Samsung I9000 Galaxy S: still long does not belong to the old iron!

Currently the Galaxy S is almost unrivalled, when it comes to equipment and hardware-power: first is the 4.3 ″ Super-AMOLED touchscreen unrivalled. Colours and contrasts very well compared to LCD technology affect the display. In comparison to the AMOLED technology improved the readability in direct sunlight. In addition, the power consumption was further reduced. Overall, the display of the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S belongs to the lonely top on the mobile market. The resolution of the IPS LCD display of the iPhone 4 can keep in principle only in terms of resolution. Here are 800 × 480 pixels at the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S to 960 × 640 pixels at the iPhone 4 that but only a 3.5 ″ display has and is thus relatively much higher. Nevertheless: To the resolution on the small disadvantage the Samsung I9000 Galaxy surpassed S the iPhone in terms of display. Otherwise the Android Smartphone offers currently there are many technical facts & figures that inspire: the gigahertz processor is one of the most powerful on the market, 512mb of RAM are more than sufficient. The internal 8 gb memory can be extended using a micro SD card. HSDPA, Wi-Fi N, A-GPS and Bluetooth are also integrated. Currently, there is not a more comprehensive piece of hardware. If the soon to be released HTC desire HD do better than the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S.

Update to Android 2.2 (Froyo)

Why is the update for the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S users so important? For now this is certainly the case, because the target audience for a such high-end Smartphone that is interested to make the device even faster and better. On the other hand, the Samsung I9000 Galaxy has still some teething to fight with S, so that the hardware can advantage of not the actual speed compared to other smartphones. As reported by users that the GPS reception is poor. It should be probably also partly came to speed dips and used. Froyo will improve the speed of all phones, so that even when the I9000 Galaxy S can be assumed, that a lot will happen. Except for the speed and stability of the cell phone, function at the Android market should receive also an auto-update feed. Also the browser Flash 10.1 support, the Gmail app has been improved and videos can now be recorded in mp4 format.

When will the update?

Supposedly the update of Samsung I9000 Galaxy S with the software of Samsung to be gravel already available – at least in Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Therefore it can also not be long, until the software also in Germany appears. But only about the Samsung software gravel, the already harsh criticism for lack of transparency and failure has harvested. Here, users must then check updates – this should then also be too long. Who can not wait, can even in the Forum xda-developers looking for an alternative firmware and get advance already Android 2.2 on the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S install. But beware: This is software no Samsung original and the warranty is lost when such firmware flashing. Wait can be worthwhile so under certain circumstances. In the following video you will see a such custom firmware with Android 2.2

Dell venue Pro: Windows phone 7 Smartphone with QWERTY keyboard and AMOLED display

The release of Windows phone 7 is fast approaching and so also the soon available models. The Dell Venue Pro is one of them and maybe even one of the most interesting smartphones of the product range with the new Microsoft operating system Windows phone 7. With a portrait slider with QWERTY keyboard, the Smartphone certainly has an unusual format and combined the large 4.1 ″ display there was so little so far not.

Design & processing

, The Dell Venue Pro is a Super flat slider with 4.1 ″ display. According to the Microsoft specifications only three touch sensitive buttons are down at the edge of the display. At one such flat mobile man not suspected although, but it doesn’t pull itself out a full keyboard. In the vertical, so far only very few mobile phones show a keyboard, at best the Palm Pre or the BlackBerry 9800 torch have this unusual format. The large display particularly striking in this context. A successful combination that beautifully complements the successful selection of the material. As a noble appearance that can quite compete with top smartphones like the iPhone 4 or the coming HTC desire HD is the Dell Venue Pro.

Technology in detail

Of the large 4.1 ″ display is aufeglöst with 800 × 480 pixels and offers the AMOLED technology which offers genuine black with lower power consumption, better contrast and brighter colours compared to the conventional LCD again. The in the high-end area already obligatory gigahertz processor there are also here. The small seems mandatory 8 gb memory, which also unfortunately cannot be extended (it is the case with the HTC HD7). Wi-Fi and A-GPS are almost as naturally integrated. The 5 mega pixel camera dominates also the inclusion of video in HD.

Windows Phone 7

The new operating system from Microsoft to cope without the user interface used on Windows Mobile and delivers a good performance in terms of operating – first and foremost the browser with multi-touch support convinced. To make it short: Windows phone 7 has a user complete without icons, diö sure something strange is, but with a nice look and above all, smooth animations and responsive operation convinces.

Availability and price

Unfortunately still no date is known when the Dell Venue Pro should be available, but an early release seems likely, especially since the launch of Windows phone 7 in October will be held. For the time being it will appear just in the United States, thanks to an integrated GSM module it comes clear but also with the European network. Due to the excellent facilities and elegant presentation is to be expected with a high price.
