LTE – the new transmission technology, significantly faster than HSDPA

With LTE, the successor is prepared by UMTS. Via HSDPA (high speed downlink packet access), a transmission technology that uses UMTS, are possible here depending on the connection quality speeds of 3.6 Mbit / s up 13.98 MB/s. The new transmission technology LTE (long term evolution) is to create optimal conditions up to 60 Mbit/s. This is equivalent to 10 times a normal Home DSL connection (DSL 6000) and the approx. 8 times of the currently available HSDPA (7.2 Mbps).

The new technology LTE aims above all to enable the new HD video quality also outside of Wi-Fi capabilities. The transmission technology HSDPA here relatively quickly reaches its limits. Here very fast transfer rates needed, E.g. for video conferences with high resolution, to allow a smooth playback of video data.

This trend is more than likely not only through HD videos. The iPhone revolutionized the Internet surf feeling on the road and thus caused more consumption of amount of data at T-Mobile as the runner-up 13 times. Accordingly tries of course to create even more Potezial in the field of transmission technology. This is particularly necessary because absolute Internet sites and applications cause more and more data transfer, and on the other phones are also increasingly used for these purposes.

According to Wikipedia the first LTE networks should be rebuilt by 2012.
