Is the new generation of Phablets about 10 – 20% more efficient than the current high-end Smartphone generation à la one of HTC or Samsung Galaxy S4 and this packed with lots of memory, all possible interfaces and technology gadgets, you can imagine that. More Smartphone no man needs – the scope of what is currently technically feasible Z Ultra and Samsung Galaxy HTC one Max, Sony Xperia consistently exploit note 3 and rely on display sizes beyond from 5 ″ diagonal.
The “ Phablets ” are nothing for the trouser pocket, but rather handbags smartphones, because none of the presented Smartphone has a display diagonal less than 5 ″. The material selection of the featured Android smartphones is quite diverse: Samsung is at the Galaxy note 3 above from three again on polycarbonate, so schnödes plastic. That’s currently kinda “ out ”, its beneficial properties remain a low weight and good permeability for radio waves, which reduces the radiation of the Smartphone and the battery protects.
All the HTC One Max and the Sony Xperia Z are different ultra there: here is a mixture of glass and aluminium at HTC aluminium, while Sony once again as seen in the “ small ” Sony Xperia Z is used. We want to compare this new generation of Phablets the following article – technical data are particularly the HTC One Max and the Samsung Galaxy touch 3 still not final, so everything without guarantee of accuracy. By the way: The LG G2, which is a high-end Phablet of the current generation, we have dedicated an extra article, where we detail present’s.
Design and workmanship in comparison
As indicated already above, the Phablet opponents of the big manufacturers, Sony, HTC and Samsung are different from the ground up, what’s your design. The Samsung Galaxy note 3 is expected a plastic housing with more rounded design, as in the previous version of Samsung Galaxy note 2. The Samsung Smartphone is likely to either be the lightest in the Roundup, or offer more space for a large battery (whopping 3450 mAh are expected). Also the operating concept differs somewhat from the Phablet competition at the Samsung: the note 3 putting back on the operation with a stylus, so a pencil, which offers an alternative form of service in addition to the sticky keys.
There is a pin the HTC One Max nor the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, but the latter can be operated also with each pen with conductive tip (E.g. pencil or ballpoint pen), is trimmed like the Samsung Galaxy but not so extreme on pen touch 3. Also by the choice of materials, the two clearly from the competition is differ from Samsung. HTC is HTC one as in the output model metal and noble, robust design.
It doesn’t seem entirely consistent but again in the implementation to go to, because as already with the HTC one mini housing again rather misplaced-looking plastic frames in a cool. If these rumors are true, that would be quite disappointing for me. Mini to understand yet the statement was at the HTC one, that the manufacturing technique that was applied when the HTC one, could not be transferred to the small format, so this would surprise with a big HTC One Max, especially because the Phablet in an again higher price range will play. But I can reassure you: on this small steamers in perceived quality of the HTC one Max’s is of course a very nice and high quality Smartphone – the note on the plastic frame is bleating at very high levels.
At the once again water resistant Sony Xperia Z, ultra awaits a mixture of glass and metal with a very edgy housing. The design is very chic and modern advised, but the Sony Xperia is advised also really big Z ultra by the angular forms. Unfortunately the Xperia might have quite slightly narrower and less than ultra at some points Z, especially at the bottom, the Smartphone is a tad bit to accommodating.
Technical specifications compared
Technically gives only a few surprises at the highend Phablets of the next generation. All have resolution (1920 × 1080) and therefore such a large pixel densities a large display with full HD, that here no pixels are more visible. Differences are here only on the data sheet. With 6.44 ″ diagonal is the display of the Sony Xperia Z ultra but still slightly larger than that of the competition.
Both Samsung and HTC use in their Phablets on 5.9 ″ displays, which also resolve with full-HD. The technology Samsung typically falls off the grid: with Super-AMOLED a technique is used, the individual organic light emitting diodes give a picture. This saves power, creates perfect contrast and rich colors – unfortunately in my eyes but usually a somewhat unnatural appearance and a somewhat poorer readability in sunlight than traditional
all Phablets are all based on the powerful Qualcomm chipset of next generation expected to be (still an in-house Octacore chipset in the conversation is einizig at Samsung), Snapdragon 800th clocking the processor only differs to some megahertz , what will play only a subordinate role himself for hardcore users.
Otherwise all 2 gb memory and the latest connection standards, differences are revealed only in detail. Whether the new mobile communications standard LTE-A (to: what is LTE-A?) supported, such as the LG G2, is currently unknown, but also due to lack of support in Germany currently no matter big – at least for the Sony Xperia Z ultra seems to become new wireless standard does not support.
The camera HTC as the HTC one also relies on the ultra pixel technology with optical image stabilizer, aimed at making better photos in less light than comparable cameras with more megapixels. This departure from the megapixel arms race has only half paid off: while consistently good were the pictures with the HTC Smartphone, however, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 with 13 megapixels and conventional camera offered better photos then something.
Especially in good lighting conditions due to the high number of megapixels then but also much more details in the photos are. All Smartphone camera but very good results.
The data on the internal memory are to enjoy touch 3 with caution with the HTC One Max and the Samsung Galaxy. The HTC One Max is speculation, there is a micro-SD card slot, as it was to see on first product images.
However, these pictures were taken in the meantime by HTC as “ fake ” declared, which should not come from HTC. It could also be that this feature is reserved for the market in the far East and us is possibly a version with 16 gb memory and a 32 gb memory on the market.
At the Samsung Galaxy note 3 seem the 64 gb internal memory to keep wacker in the rumors – the device is to be presented in September. I wonder if really 64 gb internal memory can be retained and how this affects the price.
Here the technical data at a glance:
Conclusion: Phablet Roundup without clear winners
What do you say there? The NextGen Phablets offer a trim package for everyone, there is a clear winner. Sony’s Xperia Z Ultra is the very large display, the chic design (6, 5 mm thin!) and water resistance. When the HTC One Max is the design very chic advised the software interface “ HTC sense ” I still really like. Samsung will open some highlights in terms of operation note 3 still in the Galaxy, so that you can differentiate themselves positively from the strong competition. So far here is the very large (and at the same time extensible!)
Memory significantly out of the frame. Whether ultimately the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 to the usage or an in-house solution, will not likely notice in everyday operation. Argument for and against the Samsung Galaxy super AMOLED display is rated 3: on the one hand, it’s ultra high contrast, low power and color-intensive, but unnatural as the HTC One Max or the Sony Xperia Z.
Availability and price
Exact release dates I can call it currently still. All Phablets should be available in September at a cost of from 600,-€. The LG G2 is expected early towards the August of end of and is a rewarding alternative due to its narrow display frame and the interesting software features.
Otherwise applies as always: we can check the like free of charge you, once the Phablets are available in the bridgat shop. To do this simply click on the below attached links to the products and on the “ notification when available ”. You will receive then after the registration of your E-Mail address free of charge and without obligation an email, as soon as the Smartphones are available.
