HSDPA – high speed downlink packet access

What the abbreviation means, is already in the header. It is not Selbstversändlichkeit of course now to understand what all those words mean. Therefore I turn again to: high speed of course stands for a high speed, that might make sense. The speed of transferred data from the Internet on a mobile device is meant by that. Downlink (no download!) is the reception channel of the mobile user. These channels are regulated by a system that sends data packets to different network users. I need a phone with HSDPA?

Whether you need HSDPA depends of course by your habits: surfing in the Internet and would one data plan, will be a cell phone or smart phone with HSDPA certainly the best choice. Hereby you usually reach the best transfer rates (theoretically 3.6 Mbit / s or 7.2 Mbps). Old transmission technologies such as GSM/GPRS/EDGE are sufficient for rare uses of the Internet, are no fun but in the long run. With a modern Smartphone or Web Mobile is the appearance of the Internet pages of the presentation on a PC already very close, so that also large amounts of data are transported, need fast transmission.

HSDPA +: prospects for the improved standard

HSDPA so far not everyone is a term, but now is already the next, improved standard in the wings. The name HSDPA + can already guess, amounts to what the upgrade: an increase in performance. Currently already 7.2 Mbps via HSDPA are possible. The manufacturer Huawei from the far East now tests the ways to increase this speed significantly. Target is to reach 56 Mbps via HSDPA +. Current tests already 21 Mbit / s were reached in Germany, which is already a significant performance increase over the current 7.2 Mbps. The network operators (O2, T-Mobile, and others) have expressed already their interest and carry out tests with HSDPA +.
