Bachelor and associate studies in Australia
The basic requirement for a bachelor’s degree in Australia is usually a high school diploma. Depending on the subject, there may be additional requirements, such as good grades in certain school subjects.
Those who do not meet the academic admission requirements for a bachelor’s degree in Australia can usually compensate for this with a study preparation course and thus qualify for a bachelor’s degree. Access to programs for study preparation is partly also possible with secondary school leaving certificate.

Postgraduate and Master’s degree in Australia
Universities require a first undergraduate degree, usually a bachelor’s degree, for both postgraduate and master’s degrees in Australia. As in the bachelor’s degree, there may be additional requirements to be met depending on the course.
For some master’s courses, for example, it is expected that the applicant’s bachelor’s degree comes from the same or a similar subject as the desired master’s course. Anyone wishing to start a doctoral degree in Australia usually needs a master’s degree or a bachelor’s honors degree. In addition, applicants usually have to provide evidence of research experience. Graduates who cannot yet be admitted to a doctorate due to a lack of research experience, for example, have the opportunity to first obtain a Master by Research or Master of Philosophy and thus qualify for a PhD program. Often they can then go straight to the PhD program. In some cases, especially in the case of job-related doctorates, so-called professional doctorates, professional experience is also required.

A semester abroad in Australia is a particularly popular study program for international students. The academic requirements for the Study Abroad Programs at universities in Australia are very moderate. Semester students require high school or secondary school. You often have to have studied at your home university for a year before your semester abroad.
An Academic Gap Year is also possible at some Australian universities. Participants in this program can study in Australia for one or two semesters immediately after graduating from school and get a taste of a wide variety of subjects.
